Sanitizing Procedures
What our reptile supplies go through before they show up at your door.
-
1
1. Inspect & rinse
Every piece of driftwood and every seed pod is rinsed under fresh water and inspected for soft spots, mold or hitchhikers.
-
2
2. Soak
Pieces are soaked in a dilute reptile-safe sanitizer (F10SC) for the time recommended by manufacturer, then thoroughly rinsed.

3. Kiln dry
Wood and seed pods spend 6–12 hours in a low-temp kiln to kill any remaining mold spores and pests. Substrate is heat-treated separately.

4. Inspect again, then bag
Each piece gets a final visual inspection, dust-off, and is bagged in food-grade kraft paper. We label every batch with the date it left our greenhouse.
